Who We Are

Transforming Pastoralist Women Initiative (TPWI) is a community-based organization founded in 2018 to address the unique challenges facing women and girls in pastoralist communities. Rooted in Kajiado County, TPWI exists to empower marginalized groups through education, mentorship, and holistic development programs.

We recognize that pastoralist women and girls continue to face systemic barriers such as limited access to education, gender-based discrimination, poor health services, and the effects of climate change. TPWI was established to bridge these gaps by creating opportunities that transform communities into resilient, self-sustaining societies.

Through collaborative partnerships with the Kajiado County Government, local schools, and community stakeholders, we deliver impactful programs that inspire lasting change.
